1901 may be correct but we still need to be sure which Eliza married Stephen.

You need her father's name from the marriage cert

Buy the birth cert for your grandfather to see what her maiden name is

1874 - marriage in Maidstone is more likely. We have strong links with maidstone and near maidstone - Eastry and Cranbrook are probably too far away

Wouldn't you like to be SURE you have the right info or are you happy to settle for probabilities ?

Someone on Ancestry has done just that and mixed up at least 2 Eliza Waghorn's. Their tree shows the one born in Farleigh as marrying Stephen Parker, and then has her death as 1875 when she was still having children in 1898.

Don't do the same ... buy a certificate

Yes its easy to get side tracked. The Parkers are easier as we have passed on family info. But wives coming in are more difficult to trace. Especially the further back you go.

Thanks again for help

Hi again,

Finally got wedding cert for Stephen Parker and Eliza Waghorn and it fits with info I have . Eliza 's father was was John Waghorn Labourer I think its says 27 Peel Street Maidstone - Sept 1874 Stephen Parker is at 29 Peel street. Neither Stephen or Eliza could write their names, signing with a cross. Witnesses were John and Emily Gorham Stephens Sister and Brother in law.

Can anyone tie in background of John Waghorn father to Eliza A Waghorn b 1857 Please
