Effie may just have been a "pet" name, and bear no relation to whatever her real name might have been.

So you don't plan on getting the man's death cert to establish any facts?

If the marriage to Amy Beatrice Wood is correct I can not work out where the name Effie came from and I don`t think I ever will as there are no aunts or uncles still alive.

The only vaguely similar marriage in 1958 is between Stanley G. Aggett and Betty Crocker in Newton Abbot. (Mar. 1958 7a 1071).
Don't think it can be the right man.

I have just been looking at some of my notes and there is a date (not sure if it is right) married Effie 1958 ,no surname,wondering if Walter Stanley was married twice,I never saw much of him so I have no information to help and my mother never talked about her family so that doesn`t help either.

My uncle did not have any children.

There are four births from the Aggett/Browning couple. (Walter, Pamela, David, and Marilyn - all born Exeter). Did your uncle have children?

The other two couples don't seem to have had children .

I am trying to find information on my uncle WALTER STANLEY AGGETT b Mar 1905 Exeter but we only knew him as Stanley his wife we knew as Effie,can`t find surname.
On FreeBMD I can only find his birth no marriage or death .

I have just realised that William can not be the son of Oliver as he died in 1777 so FamilySearch have got it wrong but I would still like to know if Oliver was married twice.

I have been looking through my info on Oliver Aggett and found on a pedigree chart from FamilySearch a William Aggett b 1785 South Tawton father Oliver Aggett mother Jane Brimblecombe but that can not be right as Jane died 1752.
AnnCardiff found a marriage of a Oliver Aggett to Elizabeth Bond on 19 Nov 1752 could this be a 2 nd marriage for Oliver with son William and was there anymore children or is it a different Oliver Aggett all together.
