Yes Eliza is not mentioned on the 1861 census, it may be that she married Joseph Middleton and then went back for Minnie at a later date.

He would have been on Parish relief and not in work I believe....I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong... :-D

Being unable to find your ggrans (Eliza)birth ref her sisters would give you Hannahs maiden name for sure

Minnie was the daughter of Eliza and Joseph Middleton, they went on to have a further 6 children (that is verified).

I agree it is probably best to verify things yourself as opposed to taking things at face value from trees. I have also found some really silly things on trees but it is difficult to differentiate when you have no information to work from.

It is far better to do your own research and get certificates along the way to be sure of the right road....I have seen some total and utter balderdash on peoples trees...Even concerning my own family which I can verify with certs and much data...But if they wish to put any old rubbish down on their tree then let them get on with it,at least I know I am correct on mine....

No it does seem funny Christine. There are also so may variations of the spelling for the Weldrick surname. Fredk, you have also found something as I know my great Grandmothers name was Minnie.
