I've traced the Herbert who died on the ship as being born Bertie Arthur Dearborn in Edmonton in 1884. Appears to be the illegitimate son of Ellen/Helen Dearborn. Her mother Sarah married a Frederick Wiseman (hence the Sarah Wiseman on that 1901).

The Annie Rowsell that Herbert is with on the 1901 & 1911 is his mother's sister.

At some point between 1901 & 1911 he must have decided he preferred the name of Herbert.

Just reading Herbert's army documentation - interesting! Pages and pages of it.

He had a number of tattoos:
a spray of fern on his chest; "basket of flowers, peacock, etc" on left arm; female figures on his right arm; a man's figure on his left leg, and a female figure on his right leg.

He banked with the Bank of Montreal in Toronto.

In 1915 he was initially reported missing, then discovered to be a PoW at Geissen. Moved to various other PoW camps, then repatriated to England (Ripon) in January 1919.

In 1919 there's a record of pay Oct - Dec, with address 37 Faraday St [or Ct ?], Camberwell, E17.
another page says "For repatriation overseas (Toronto) after the War."

Reading on -
there's a page headed "Will Enquiry", which says "Undated Will removed from Docs and sent to Leg 6/DVA"
It appears to be dated 28/6/ 54
I wonder if that's when he died?

So Herbert (Harry) was a POW and repatriated to Ripon and then onward to Canada. Is there any record of a marriage?

No, that record doesn't mention marriage - or any family apart from brother George.

Also no address for after demob.
