There's a lot of ambiguity about father Robert's occupation, on this baptism he's changed in a matter of months from "Chemist's Traveller" to "Paint Manufacturer" |

What name/occupation does he give for his father on his marriage to Kathleen G Bryson/Bartlett in 1947? |

Never noticed that one MC - found the other after following him to Australia in 1950, then returning in 1952 with wife and daughter Shirley (age 6). They had travelled out a couple of months after him. |

I wonder though whether he actually knew his parents, no sign of him/them in 1901 and he is a boarder in 1911 - possibly in care? I read somewhere on one of the links he "run away" to join up when under age - but running from who? A while ago there was a thread about some home children, shipped off to Canada - some of them had been placed with families before being shipped out when old enough. |

Well found Flip, just had a look at that service record and there's no doubt that the sister is Mrs Eliza Bryson. |

I did Flip, and the numbers don't go that high. So I tried 204 which brought up the Bryants (which I confused with Bryson) at 28 Union Square. |

Eliza's parents lived in Ada street when they married, and still there 1881/91 - Edmund and first wife Sarah also lived Ada street. Wonder what he did with the child when he joined the army (Sarah died 1901 age 25)? |
