If a child was born and died between the censuses then it will be difficult to find them.

The problem is that when John is married to Susan his year of birth is 1856 to 1860 from the censuses, but in the 1861 and 1871 censuses posted he would appear to be born in 1852/1853?

1851 census you wrote on here are right family

No I have not looked up bandstead. he was born bandstead and Occ Blacksmith. He as a son Alfred potter who married susan ann kezia curd. Alfred born croydon

1861 census may be them? Would you know if they had anymore children apart from Eliza,jane,john?

John's place of birth varies from census to census.
The 1901 claims Leavesden Green, Hertfordshire, or Leavers (?) Herts.
Other times, Kent.
Have you found 'Bandstead' on a map?

The son john potter I state b 1858 died 1925 Croydon. He ended up living 82 wilford road Croydon. married susan Tullett 1Dec 1880 croydon
