Here is the link: http://www.bdm.vic.gov.au/home/family+history/family+history+certificates/

Please do come back and share any new clues to be found on the certificate! :-)

Again, many thanks. On PROVIC I saw a naturalization for Charles Christen Christensen which seems to fit. He was not a policeman but a carter in McMahons Point, Sydney.
I have info for the children and you are correct in their names.
Would you send me the link to download an uncertified image for Alice and Charles' marriage in 1905, Victoria please.
There are many questions. I assume Charles landed in Melbourne, Alice born I believe in Kogarah, Sydney. Why does she get married in Fitzroy, Melbourne? They were both around 40 or more when they had their first child in 1906. Very late in life for those times, which makes me wonder if Alice was married before?
Questions, questions
Many thanks again and I welcome any more info you may stumble across!
Cheers
Beverley :-)

The NSW online records have naturalisations for 2 Christen CHRISTENSENs of Denmark. One in 1895 (says see also Charles) and one in 1899. You can order a copy, may give further details.

Was he a policeman?

Their 1905 marriage cert should provide full details of parents, birthplace etc. You can download an uncertified image for A$20. Let me know if you need the link.

FurryFriends Report 12 Oct 2013 21:32

hi Gins

Their children were Alice Marie, Charles Alan, Norman and Harold who wrote all born in Sydney. I believe Alice was born in Kogarah and from a funeral notice I found she was 84 when she died putting her birth year at 1869. I believe Alice Marie was born in 1908 which would have made Alice 39 .... A dangerous age in those times for first child?

I am unable to find ANY info about her parents at all in Trove, NSW BDM etc and hoped any super sleuths could find another avenue.

Hi Alemap
I found the trove ref about wedding, thank you. I wonder why they married in Melbourne?
The immigration may be Charles although any info I have never has him as a Jensen or Christian, always christen! but that could be a transcribers error..

Hi Alviegal

Thank you for that piece if information. Obviously not Alice Duff Warrington, but could as you say, be her mother.

I appreciate every post from anyone. Many thanks. I am at a particularly graffiti- less brick wall!
