So we still have not got the family in 1910 or 1920?

I did try, but nothing obviously correct.

Nancy, you could always write to this address and see if anyone remembers Gladys Gilbert and knows anything about her:

U.S. Public Records Index, Volume 1 about Gladys E Gilbert
Name: Gladys E Gilbert
Birth Date: 11 Sep 1907
Phone Number: 632-7988
Address: 52 Missionary Rd # 104, Cromwell, CT, 06416-2170 (1993)

Seeing as her SSN was issued Mass. it's a fair chance to be her:

U.S., Social Security Death Index, 1935-Current
Name: Gladys E. Gilbert
Last Residence: 06416 Cromwell, Middlesex, Connecticut
Born: 11 Sep 1907
Died: 21 Feb 2006
State (Year) SSN issued: Massachusetts (Before 1951)

When Ester returned from Sweden in 1921 she gave Ellen's address as Greenwood City Line, Worcester, Mass.

On Axel's WW1 draft he gives his address as 14 Hillside Street, Worcester, Mass.

On his naturalisation in 1906 he gives address as 173, Vernon Street, Worcester, Mass. That's the address Ester gives on her arrival in 1906 and on her arrival she gives their address as 159½ Vernon Street. So surely they MUST be somewhere in Vernon Street in 1910?

I just wonder what happened to Gladys after her husband William died in 1963, but as you mentioned Marieceleste, perhaps I sould write to the last known address. Thanks U2 your both stars!!

Nancy, just to be clear - the siblings I posted were for Ellen, not Gladys.

Hi Guys

Can anyone find a marriage for Gladys Clave nee Sivert to a Gilbert?? sometime after 1963 when her husband died?? There is a death listed for her in Connecticut 2006 which says she is Gladys E Gilbert? Trying to work out if she really did marry a Gilbert or if her name has been transcribed wrong?

:-S :-S

Gee

Gee Report 29 Oct 2013 15:59

Hi

I don't think you'll find marriage records online for that period?

Treemadnancy

Treemadnancy Report 29 Oct 2013 16:38

Thanks Gins, much appreciate. Its quiet frustrating, her death in 2006 gives her birth as 11 Sept 1907, that's nearly a hundred years old. But I'm not sure its her due to the name Gilbert, and wonder if it should have been Sivert. But having said that, her maiden name was Sivert but married name Clave. I have copied and pasted this from MarieCeleste 26 Oct 17:49 .... State (Year) SSN issued: Massachusetts (Before 1951) what does it mean by before 1951) ?

MarieCeleste Report 29 Oct 2013 19:56

Nancy, it means that her Social Security Number was issued before 1951.

William Clave's obit mentions children but they may be from his first marriage -you'll have to trace him back through the census to check.

It will be amongst the cuttings I send when I finish ploughing through some 200 articles (mainly trivia)
