Although it has been crossed out and alterered on the 1881 census...

The Ecclesiastical Parish or District is.......St Catherines.

Which is the place of abode stated on Harry's baptism record.

Assuming then that an error was made on the record and his Father's name is John Thomas Death and not John James.......

Second born child to John and Alice is Ethel....

..West Yorkshire, England, Births and Baptisms, 1813-1910
about Ethel Death Name: Ethel Death
Parish: Sandal, St Catherine
Baptism Date: 2 Dec 1883
Abode: St Catherine
Father's Name: John Thomas Death (Labourer)
Mother's Name: Alice Death

I am off on the hunt again for Harry and will report back if and when i find him!!!

Good morning,

Thanks for your continued help. Late last night I confirmed the Snowden marriage and Harry's Father as John Thomas Death ( M/T as Dauth on one census).

I was waiting for a light bulb moment which never came hoping I could find Harry with grandparents but as of 2 a.m. I couldn't :-(

I have an appointment this morning so back later.

Thanks to all again.

Sue

They have to be somewhere, staying with someone.

There are so many mistranscriptions for their surname :-(

supercrutch

supercrutch Report 8 Nov 2013 19:16

mgnv thanks :-) I have....

Harry Death
1881 – 1936

Anne Maria Dauth
1883 –

Ethel Death
1884 –

Florence Death
1886 –

Elizabeth Death
1891 –

Emma Death
1898 -

So I will look again.

The baptism for Harry's father is transcribed as John James but the original definitely looks like John Thomas.

Prickly Holly,

Hannah Maria is down as Anne Maria in 1891. (The 8 should read 3- image quality poor?)

She has not vanished.
