Violet M Quartly was born in 1913 in Rugby, Warwickshire and FreeBMD gives her mother's maiden name as Pratt. I believe her parents were married in Boston, USA, so if anyone can give me any further information on either the Quartly family or the Pratts I'd be most grateful. Thanks. |

What do you believe are the names of her parents? |
|||
|
Linda | Report | 9 Nov 2013 23:44 |
I don't know her parents' names, and no, I haven't checked other trees. Maybe I should have done that first! |

Why do you think they were married in Boston? |

Have you got the 1937 marriage cert ? |

When I put Violet Quartly into 'search other tree' it gives me 2 matches, but when I click on them nothing happens - the links don't seem to be working. Nothing new for GR unfortunately! |

Is this her death? |

|
Linda | Report | 9 Nov 2013 23:50 |
No, I haven't got her birth certificate. A cousin told me they were married in Boston. |

|
Linda | Report | 9 Nov 2013 23:50 |
Yes, that is her death. |

You need to send a message to the tree owner, stating your connection to the person and asking for permission to see their tree. |

There are too many possibles on Incoming Passenger lists without knowing the names |

Yes, I know that. But some of the links to get to the point of being able to send a message don't seem to be working! Maybe I'll leave it till another day! |

Sorry - my post refers to sending a message to the tree owner! The incoming passengers look promising - I'll ask my cousin if she knows any more. Many thanks. |

And Violet was born in Rugby. |

Linda does not say they are american, just that they were married in Boston. |

Thanks - I'll try 1911. I hadn't made any progress with the census as too many possibles - I hadn't realised Quartly was such a common name! |

Interesting that the Probate for Frederick Quartley mentions Violet Lancaster |
