Find Ancestors

I am looking for the birth mother of my grandfather James Parkey born Hattersley Mottram Cheshire in 1860. I have been unable to find anything related to his birth, and wonder if he was born out of wedlock. I know his father was named William Parkey as this is on James Parkey's wedding certificate when he married Harriet Lomas born Doveholes Chapel-en-le-Frith Derbyshire 1881. I will be most grateful for any information on this matter. I have searched for this part of my family for many years, to no avail. Many thanks.

Curious! It's got to be one of those two but one had father John and the other Thomas but marriage certificate says William!

By George I think you've got it, rootgatherer, born James Schofield before his parents married. That's assuming the father was the man she later married.

Might be worth buying the marriage certificate to get more detail?

Thanks Margee but credit to Stuart who found the the marriage of William Parkey and Ann Schofield on family search then found a birth for James on Cheshire BMDs.

I only then checked out the census. Blowed if I can see William and Ann on later census.
