Hi I have traced the Kendall,s back to 1842 but cannot go any further can anyone help?
I have John Kendall 1842 married to Mary Ann wilkinson 1850
John was from Northamptonshire Mary Ann was from leeds

They should both be on 1851 census............have you looked?

A copy of their marriage cert would include names of fathers - if known

And is the man's name JAMES.............or JOHN?

And why did you say that he married Wilkinson when there is absolutely nothing to support the idea?

It may, of course, be the case that they never actually married................

You're right about the marriage year, Reggie - silly me.

The only possible marriages, then (barring wild spelling of Kendall) - or maybe they didn't actually marry - are these, though not in any obvious places:
