AustinQ

AustinQ Report 18 Jan 2017 08:12

Presumably she had a child or children- when/ where was the child born.

Was her child/ children registered in Harrison surname or another surname?

EDIT: on Rootschat:

In 1923 aged 24 she was an unmarried mother and gave birth to a little girl in Paddington, London. A short time later the baby was given up for adoption and I can find no trace of Lily after that date.

Any info after that I would be grateful

I have the marriage cert of George & Margaret, but it says they are 40 years old in1861 that means Margaret was over 60 when she had Elizabeth.
I think my Margaret was born in about 1854

Potty Report 11 Feb 2014 14:16

The George Richards/Margaret Burns marriage is on Ancestry; George is shoemaker (Engineer on census); Margaret is a Widow, nee Kearney.

Potty

Potty Report 11 Feb 2014 14:10

Going back from the 1891 census, this is that family in 1881 - Margaret is probably too young to be Benjamin's mother:

Benjamin Richards

Age:12
Estimated Birth Year:abt 1869
Relationship to Head:Son
Father:Geo. Richards
Mother:Margaret Richards
Where born:Pembrokeshire, Wales
Civil Parish:West Ham
County/Island:Essex
Street Address:3 Pragel St
Geo. Richards 41
Margaret Richards 27
Benjamin Richards 12
Fredk. Richards 6
Henry Richards 5

Possibly George was married before.

Thirza was born in June 1852 in Rivenhall. I have details on her but I am stuck on the Richards family. I have Elizabeth A Richards bith cert.
It says her dad was George William Richards And her mum was Margaret Burns.
The only marriage with these names I can find, says that they were 40 years old when they married, that means margaret was 68 approx when she had Elizabeth, this is where I am stuck,

How sure are you that the birth certs you got is the right one?

Looks good Reggie but they must have told porkies on her birth cert implying they were married.

Wonder what their marital status was on the marriage cert. Maybethough they just didnt marry till later

There is a birth for William Ross Richards in Dec 1902 West Ham but doesn't seem to be one for William Butcher. Are the two Williams in the 1911 the same boy?

Need some feedback from Glynis.
