Mother rescued and lit up again!

You have been busy. Thank you all so much.

Daughter Emily married Taliesin Thomas Rodd so that's where that name comes in. He died of TB in 1907 so she's a widow too on the 1911. I've looked into the Port Talbot info before now and I'm pretty sure there's no direct connection. I wondered about the marriage to Frances Rix but I've followed him for a while and I don't think he's our Robert. Off to feed a hungry hubby. Thanks again for your efforts. I originally put the title to this thread as "Can't find a Cocking marriage" but thought it might get an RR!

It really doesn't look like Robert and Emilie married

Nothing seems to come up for them using various wild cards

I think Charles's name was Purnell. I've found the marriage of Charles Purnell to Mary Lewis in 1868 so it looks like Emily's father died and her mother remarried.

Emily the daughter married John Fish after Taliesin died. They moved to somewhere in England. They had no children.

I think I have to agree that Robert Henry and Emily were never married, although she claims they were and calls herself a widow in 1911.

Thanks, everyone for all your efforts.

Annie
