Lorraine here
I have been looking and found this as a possible match for david moore's parents.

Donald Moore married an enid hunter in north leeds in 1936.

I'm signing off for a couple of hours now as I have to go to work

Lorraine Report 16 Feb 2014 14:05

Hello All
Thank you for all your help .
I have just spoken to David Moore's step sister who has remembered the following and this is what she said.

Enid hunter was from west leeds ( no date of birth ) she first married a Donald Moore and they had a son called David Moore b 1939-40 in leeds. David died on 22nd april 2011 aged 71. in scarborough.

Enid then married Barbra's father Frank Lonsdale in 1949 scarborough. Frank Lonsdale was aged 49 and enid was about 36-37 years of age.

Enid apparently had a brother called Lesley hunter and his wife was called Muriel they had two children and lived in scarborough but moved away.
And they have had no contact with the side of the family since then.
That is all the info she could give me.

I am sorry this has been a little confusing but any help in finding desendants of enid's side of the family would be very grateful as her son david was an only child.
Thank you.

Ah well my conspiracy theory may well still hold up!

Lorraine - really need you to come back here...but my guess is that if you buy the marriage certificate of Enid to Frank Lonsdale you will get to know hopefully any other names she may have had and indeed her father.

And then Barbara can fill in any gaps she wants in her extended, if not blood, family :-)

Off for a lunchtime pint now before the footie :-)

ErikaH Report 15 Feb 2014 12:31

There is really very little point in speculating any further

For £9.25, Barbara can obtain a copy of the cert of her father's marriage to Enid..........and get some factual info on which to base searches

As this has been going on for about 3 years, it really is the only sensible course to take

Mary Report 15 Feb 2014 12:27

I don't know Enid had been married before!

Sorry just realised my error.
I put Enid Hunter nee Noddings, should have put her mum was Noddings.

Jane Alice Noddings born 1874 married 1895 to William Hunter born 1870 in Leeds.

Lorraine is searching for relatives of David and his mother (EDIT to) Enid. She is not interested in the Lonsdale ancestors (at this time)

Reggie has suggested that she purchases the MC to F Lonsdale which will give her maiden name, the name of her father if known, and any previous names used.

That is more likely to confirm which BC is hers, even if it means purchasing the most likely 1911 one.

Hi Mary - how do you know End Hunter had been married before marrying Donald Moore?

ErikaH

ErikaH Report 15 Feb 2014 11:32

There is NO birth registration on freebmd for Enid Moore to match the one recorded on the death cert of Enid Lonsdale (above)

ErikaH

ErikaH Report 15 Feb 2014 11:25

Lorraine

Please tell us - ON HERE - some facts.

Is Barbara the child of Frank Lonsdale through a marriage prior to the one to Enid Moore?

And who is she actually looking for?

As I said earlier...David's relations - if any - are NOT Barbara's

ErikaH

ErikaH Report 15 Feb 2014 11:20

The woman who married Lonsdale was NOT the one born in 1914.

Tree on Ancestry has
John William Moore married Annie Johnson had
Donald 5/8/1911 he died in leeds Dec 1942.
there is also a closed tree which says the same Donald married in Leeds 1936.

None of this makes sense to me...I can't find a marriage between and Enid Sanderson and a Mr Moore that would fit with the "birth" for David.

I can find a birth for a David Moore in Leeds at the right time MMN Hunter and a marriage for an Enid Hunter to a Donald Moore also in Leeds.

And a birth for Enid Hunter in Bramley in 1911

If I was guessing I'd pursue this line...

As Reggie says get the marriage certificate to Mr Lonsdale to confirm her father's name

Lorraine has given me the background by PM. She wants to find any living relatives of Enid, possibly via David Moore. She hadn't mention that Enid had been married before the one to Mr Lonsdale!!

She is researching on behalf of David Moore's elderly Lonsdale step-sister. Help will be needed to find grandparents (on both the Moore and Saunderson sides) then their descendants.

(think that's right)

Lorraine - we realise that you are trying to be discrete, but without a bit more background in public, we can't help you properly.

IF the woman who married Lonsdale was (presumably) David's mother........................buy a copy of the marriage cert for facts about her

ErikaH

ErikaH Report 15 Feb 2014 10:33

According to info posted above, Enid died in 2003 - what her name was at the time is not stated.

I do think, however, that there is considerable doubt about the validity of some of the 'info'

The woman born in 1914 was Enid E....................

The one who married Lonsdale had no recorded second forename.

THIS is the marriage of Enid E

I think someone has been jumping to erroneous conclusions

HeyJudeB4Beatles Report 15 Feb 2014 10:27

How do you know she married Mr Lonsdale? There is a death for Enid Lonsdale in Scarborough in 1994 which indicates she was born in 1911...

Jude

ErikaH

ErikaH Report 15 Feb 2014 10:02

Are you 100% sure that David was born in Scarborough?

Or is that just where you knew him?

What was his exact DOB?

And did he have a second forename?

ErikaH

ErikaH Report 15 Feb 2014 09:50

So how - and indeed, why - do you think Enid Moore relates to David?

Please explain................................................

Who were his parents?

Which of David's parents married one of Barbara's parents?

That's the only way she can be his step-sister

If she's looking for 'family'........it might be better to research HER roots.............David's relations are not actually hers
