The Thomas and Isabella marriage you found for me in Gretna Green in 1835 was the correct one, I am now searching for their son Thoma's marriage, I know he married in 1861 in Manchester but I wondered if he had been married before and if that is where Margaret who is his daughter came from.

i have seen the birth cert for this and for and another Margaret Noble, both of them came back with the same date of birth 4th August and both with the same mother Jane Noble no fathers name on either two differant places of birth in Cumberland but registered a couple of days apart, bit of a coincidence!

I wondered if anyone would be able to look for the following information for me?

I am trying to find out if the Thomas Noble born in 1837 in Brampton in this thread possibly married in Scotland like his parents Thomas and Isabella Niixon did in 1835?

He appears to have had a daughter margaret in 1858 but I am unable to confirm who her mother is as there no marriages for Thomas. Fairly certain she was illegimate and Thomas parents took her in.

Yes that is the correct Mary Ann, mother was Isabella Nixon.

She could have been with her niece Margaret in 1871 as she is also missing from the census, but they turn up in Manchester in 1875 for Margarets wedding.

Thanks you for that I had heard recently that they were married in Gretna but now to have the date is wonderfull. My mum always said there was a Scottish connection now we know for sure.

Now I need to find where Mary Ann was in 1871 she could be with her niece Margaret Noble born 1859 according to the 1861 census.

Sorry didn't answer been away overnight, right Mary Ann's father was Thomas Noble I have him 1861 in Brampton he was a farm servent/labourer, Mary Ann was in Manchester by 1874/5 as she was a witness at the wedding of her brother also Thomas to Jane Bell. I have no idea if she married, there is a possible death for her mother in 1896 in Mancheter the age would be about right.

Who was her father? That would help find if any of them were the correct marriage and then hopefully lead us to them on the 1891.
