Hmmmm, ok.

On the 1911 census, it states that Harry and Florence had 6 children, 5 living, 1 had died.

I "Assumed" that the child who died was possibly Cecil...

(Having said that, all the other children's births were registered in Salisbury...Cecil was registered in Stockbridge)

Births Mar 1908 (>99%)
Hatchett Cecil Norman Stockbridge 2c 115

Deaths Mar 1909 (>99%)
HATCHETT Cecil Norman 0 Salisbury 5a 125

Name: Cecil Norman Hatchett
Gender: Male
Christening Date: 14 Dec 1908
Christening Place: Wiltshire, England
Father's Name: Harry Hatchett
Mother's Name: Florence

All good so far..........

Except..........Checking out the birth of Ruby, she appears to have had a twin Brother...

Births Sep 1910 (>99%)
HATCHETT Frederick G Salisbury 5a 155
HATCHETT Ruby Salisbury 5a 155

Not only does Frederick not appear on the 1911 census, there does not appear to be a death registered for him between 1910 and 1911 either!

PH, that 1915 birth that you posted is the same volume and page number as the 1910 one for Frederick. A mistake somewhere? It's not on FreeBMD.

Edit: Yes the mistake is on Ancestry, should be 1910.

Hmmm...odd that they both have the same birth registration details which one would assume they were twins.

MargaretM Report 26 Apr 2014 14:53

I've seen it happen before, PH, where 2 children with same surname are born same day leading you to believe that they're twins but usually not even related.
