Hi
I am trying to see if there's a connection between the following Searson people as I cannot find them on any census. William Searson was born 30/01/1876, Charlotte Searson born 28/09/1866 and Bernard Searson born 05/04/197. I think Bernard was born in the Codnor Derbyshire area. Any help appreciated.

A tree on Ancestry claims that Bernard's mother was Ellen Bemrose.

I can't check any further details because even though it's a public tree...it wont open up.

There is a Bemrose/Searson marriage but her name is Nellie Bemrose...

Am wondering if Nellie was married to Job Harold as they both have married under 1 year. If so was her name Ellen Watson as her name was on the same page as Job's marriage. The plot thickens lol :)

Nellie is a diminutive form of the name Ellen, and Eleanor amongst others. My great grandmother was born an Ellen, but known most of her life as Nellie.

Got the birth dates from a book that was passed down the family but have no idea who they are and cannot find a connection to Bernard. I now know Bernard's father was William and am trying to find him either on 1911 census or a marriage. Got a couple of possibilities to try and check out, Many thanks for all your help it is greatly appreciated.

If Bernard was born 1907, then he would have been born before both the Job Searson - Ellen Mann marriage and the William Searson -Nellie Bemrose marriage.

Just wondered if he might be under another surname in the 1911 census, or, was his father married previously?

Sue

Am trying to find William but I don't think he was the William Searson that married Nellie Bemrose. Will update my post if I find anything.

Hi
I have now got Bernard's birth certificate that states that William was his father and Charlotte was his mother, however I cannot find a marriage for them. Charlotte was down as Charlotte Searson formerly Burton on the birth certificate. If anyone can help I would be very grateful.

Thanks in advance

This one?

Burton Charlotte Basford 7b 444 <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
Hallam Annie Basford 7b 444
Searson William Basford 7b 444 <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
Severn James William Basford 7b 444

from freebmd

EDIT: James William Severn ( the other groom on the page) can be found on the 1911 census at 10 Barker Gate Ilkston, married to an Annie for 4 years, with two small daughters, so it would be reasonable to believe we have the right marriage here for Charlotte Burton and William Searson.
