That's a bit of luck............mother in law in residence!
Although the transcription is erroneous.......her name is Grayson, as per Thomas, who I would suggest is her son

Hi Reggie - Just trying to make all the fascinating stuff above add up but failing so far. I have now discovered that William H Turner b 1852 Sheffield on the 1901 census and married to Eliza Turner b 1848 in Hull is correct. I have him in 1891 census with the same wife and then in the 1881 census with Rose b 1851. Her death in 1907 doesn't seem to fit in with this.

Just wondering also if Genes Reunited is the best site to use. I am finding it very clunky and slow to respond. In fact sometimes it just does not respond at all. Does Ancestry allow for connections with other researchers? What's your view?

ErikaH

ErikaH Report 17 Jun 2014 21:37

I would never use GR for research. Virtually all of the members who help on the boards use Ancestry or FMP. I currently use the latter.

But no research can be said to be accurate unless you get certs. They are vital.

ErikaH

ErikaH Report 17 Jun 2014 21:42

If you look carefully, you will realise that the 1907 death is that of the daughter!

Tui

Tui Report 17 Jun 2014 23:42

Ah yes - I hadn't spotted that. You are quite right of course about the certificates but I just need to be sure that I'm sending for the certs for the right people before I get started on that.

Thanks again.
