Please can someone see if they can find Giles abel on the 1841/51 census for Birmingham.

All I know about hims is that is that he was born about 1796 in Birmingham His parents were John Abel b 1764 and Sarah b 1769 .

I believe Giles died in 1851.

There is a possible marriage in Birmingham 1842 but I do not know who too.

Thanks for your help

Ricochet. Thank you for all your help.

I was just looking at the familysearch site. They have a lot of useful information on there. Although I do realise that you need to check everything out on that site.

Thanks

Jane,

The site used to be notorious for dubious information as the majority on there was 'submitted', with no reference of proof.

However, since they have made major changes most of the info is now extracted directly from parish records and sources quoted so is much more reliable.

As you say though, everything you find must be checked.

I think the 1841 census is wrong. Sarah's surname was Brough and the Sarah in the 1841 was Fisher. That is according to the births for Emma and Susannah on the family search site.

Where did you get the name BROUGH?

Jane

Jane Report 10 Jun 2014 10:20

Thanks Reggie, Dea, MarieCeleste and Ricochet for helping me.

I think it was from parish records. I know it is that on my Uncles tree and I am in the process of checking everyting out.

I just tried to get on his tree but it is not working at the moment.
