Why didn't you say so?

I needn't have spent so much time looking for info you didn't want

And the sequence of events is very clear...................

Lang/Long is an easy - and obvious - mistrans.

To find info about the occupants in non-census years, you need the ER, which, as already stated, is not online

Get in touch with the relevant County Records Office, and ask what searches they are prepared to carry out - if any. They will no doubt charge for the service.

Thank you Gins, rootgatherer, Reggie and Marie Celeste.
Initially it seemed a little confusing with Lart, Long and Lang, especially the last two. Are there two separate Margaret E's? As we know transcribers can get things wrong. The unfortunate loss of husbands during the war and remarriages can take time to sort out!
The reason for my query was that I am researching the history of Spinfield House/Lodge near Marlow, Bucks, as my grandmother's older sister Elizabeth Harriet Simmonds did 'service' there in 1901, when the Murray family owned the property. This has led me to search for the occupiers and changes to the building.
To answer your question Marie Celeste, I am only interested in the occupiers of Spinfield House. The earliest occupiers I have found so far are the Pearsons in the early 1800's. But I cannot find anything yet on Henry Rupert Hood-Barr and the fire in 1937/8.
We visited the rebuilt Spinfield House when we came over to the UK again in 2013.

Thank you again all of you.

Margaret's parents also divorced in 1937

Divorce Court File: 5722. Appellant: Irene Frances Evelyn Rainey. Respondent: Edward Holmes Rainey. Type: Wife's ...

Immigration and census records show Edward to be a surgeon/medical practitioner

According to a newspaper report the Larts separated in 1936 and divorced in 1940.

If Terence explains his connection (seeing as there are possible implications for people still living) then I will send him full details.

To determine how long anyone lived at a given address would mean accessing the Electoral Register, which is not on line, and in any case does not exist for years of WW2, when none was taken.

Hi

Have you got the marriage certificate for the couple, Margaret may have been married previously and therefor her maiden name could be Rainey?

The marriage certificate will give you her status at the time of her marriage to William

Is this the marriage you refer to

I am trying to find information regarding the Duncalf family..... William G Duncalf married Margaret E Lang in the fourth quarter of 1942 reg Wycombe 3a 4058 and, according to a newspaper article in the Westerrn Daily Press, Bristol, in "Births", they had a son in November 1942 at Spinfield Lodge, Marlow, Bucks.
I have found a Michael F Duncalf born in the fourth quarter of 1942 reg Wycombe 3a 2296. But....his mother's maiden name is listed as Rainey, and she seems to have married Albert C Green in the 2nd quarter of 1942 reg Aylesbury 3a 4261.
Can someone sort this out please, and possibly find how long the Duncalf's were in Spinfield Lodge?

Terence. (South Australia).
