ErikaH

ErikaH Report 16 Jun 2014 14:29

The Martin found in 1901 was a brickie

Who were the witnesses to Patrick's marriage?

And when did Patrick die?

I'm not at all convinced that Patrick was born in England...............there is no evidence anywhere to support the idea.

His place of marriage is the bride's Parish, and absolutely no clue as to his birthplace

Louise

Louise Report 16 Jun 2014 15:23

The witnesses to Patricks marriage were Charles Cain & Nellie Boardman.I can not find a death for him.Ivy Irene remarried in 1935 to William Taylerson under the name Irene Morrison.

How did she describe herself on her second marriage cert?

Lancashire Marriage indexes for the years: 1935
Surname Forename(s) Surname Forename(s) Church / Register Office Registers At Reference
TAYLERSON William MORRISON Irene Chorlton-on-Medlock Register Office or Registrar Attended Manchester CHO_RM/402/195

How did Patrick qualify as your grandfather?

I can't see any Morrison/Rylance births

There was one child of the second marriage

Louise

Louise Report 16 Jun 2014 16:07

This is where it gets tricky. On her 2nd wedding cert.it says spinster.Patrick & Ivy Irene had a daughter my birth mother but Ivy put her step-fathers name as her maiden name Currie.I have the same address on my birth mothers wedding cert.and also Irene Taylersons death cert.9 Standish Rd,Fallowfield,Manchester.

ErikaH

ErikaH Report 16 Jun 2014 16:15

So she lied on her second cert........perhaps that's why she didn't give her correct first forename

What name did she give for her father when she married Taylerson?

ErikaH

ErikaH Report 16 Jun 2014 16:16

You refer to your 'birth mother'..............so did you actually know ANY of this family?

Edwin Morrison, which is a mixture of her Fathers name Edwin Rylance and her 1st marriage.I hope I have not spent the last 20 years on the wrong family.I only started with my birth certificate which only gave my Birth mothers name and I think even that was a lie.

Doesn't tally, but she could have lied about her age as well as everything else

Deaths Mar 1938 (>99%)

I'm leaving this now.........................don't like doing things twice when it it can be avoided
