Pamela

welcome to the site

I just have to say that I have actually been to Orbost :-)

We lived in Melbourne in 1975/76 ............ and took every opportunity to see every little bit of Victoria that we could at weekends.

That was in addition to taking a month to drive the Nullabor to Perth and back, and then another month to drive up to Cairns and back.

I only have a vague memory of Orbost .................. I shall have to go and find our photographs :-)

Well......

Besides the fact that my Dad lived in a ground floor apartment........when I used to go and visit him, sometimes, if I was in a hurry, instead of walking all the way around the complex to his door, I would just knock on the window and hand him something I had cooked for him and have a quick chat.

So when I left I would always say.......If I don't see you through the week...... I will see you through the window. :-D

Sooo. I thought it quite apt to use on here........referring to my computer screen as my window.

I can see you!! lol :-D

As a joke I once put.........If I don't see you through the spring..........I will see you on the mattress.

Prickles. x

Pamela

Glad you found the info helpful.

When you get round to digesting it all, you might like to think about trying to contact the other members who have Frederick in their trees on this site

BTW, your father was only called Henry on his marriage cert. His birth was registered as Harry. It's on page one of this thread

Dear Jacqueline and Holly........thank you so much for your help and information.....I'm pretty new to this game...but find it fascinating....my daughter Annie who lives in England started me off...and I'm really enjoying the challenge(perhaps keep the altzheimer bug away!!(I'm 81)...I.feel rather like an ancestor myself, any way I'll be looking into all the info tomorrow, and will let you know how I get on.You've made me feel so good about searching now that you've given me some guide lines, talk to you later with hopefully something to tell you.hope sometime I might be able to help you out...but I doubt it ,you sound so confident.BTW my dad was called Henry on his birth certificate....but every one called him "Harry''...and that was on his death certificate!!!thanks again Pamx
