Sorry - have deleted as that marriage was for Robert C.

Could Patricia have been married before?

Divorce records are very scarce.

Google to find their availability

Are you sure of your father-in-law's second name?

The marriage you mention for 1952 isn't on freebmd...........have you actually found a record of it anywhere?

Added....found it. Had looked initially for the woman's name, and it isn't cross-referenced

You say that he married in 1973 - any idea where?

there is nothing on FMP to support the suggestion.

perhaps there was no second marriage................

Where and when were Robert and Patricia born?

Robert K Brown m Elaine E Mott Q4 Woolwich 1952 - from Find My Past.

Not seeing the 1973 marriage. Do you know where it took place?

Jacqueline

Jacqueline Report 7 Nov 2014 10:56

freebmd has a birth for PJW in 1938, and a marriage in 1961, both in Woolwich. (One probable son)

Do these have any relevance, Trudy?

Jacqueline

Jacqueline Report 7 Nov 2014 10:58

If Robert and Patricia were your in-laws, their son is your husband......correct?

When was he born? Just so we can verify maiden name of mother.............

hi Jacqueline the info you found on patricia born 1938 and marriage in 1961 are correct as she was also married before Robert. to a man called alan lambert and she had a son called steven with him.

trudy :-)

Dea Report 7 Nov 2014 11:19

That is the one I was also looking at - so it was correct then !

BUT, I couldn't find a marriage for her as Patricia Lambert.

Did her husband Alan die shortly after their marriage?

I found the birth record for your husband

Sorry to say there is no sign of any marriage

Perhaps Patricia's first husband refused to divorce her - or Robert's first wife likewise?

Are you in touch with Steven?

He'd have been quite old enough to be aware of whether his mother married again..............or not.

Trudy

Trudy Report 7 Nov 2014 11:30

unfortunately steven has passed over so I cant ask him, and both my in-laws have passed as well, so im stuck and getting very confussed :-) :-) :-)

I think you may have to accept that they didn't marry, but as they are both dead, you can't ask them, obviously.

Did either of them have siblings who are living?

Trudy

Trudy Report 7 Nov 2014 11:41

I think your right Jacqueline
patricia was an only child and Robert had siblings but they never spoke so prob no use there either,
umm very strange if you ask me and their my in-laws lol.

Several possible siblings..............

Jacqueline Report 7 Nov 2014 11:44

Not really strange - co-habiting wasn't as unusual as you may think, although people were, of course, more discreet about it in past years.

Dea Report 7 Nov 2014 11:44

Having looked again, I think the death I was looking at was for a different Alan R Lambert.

As has already been said - either one of them may not have been free to marry so they just lived together as man and wife.

I have not yet found a correct death for Alan.
