Family consist of parents John (Bootmaker) b1852 and Esther b1862 (Taunton) m 1887 and their 2nd son Albert b1889 whose tree I have completed.

John 1888 is proving very difficult and I am making no progress - I may be right that he married an Elizabeth Johnson and a daughter in 1912 (Elizabeth L). Can anyone advise?

Is this your family? Original shows 5 children born but 1 has died. Also shows Esther as born Bethnal Green. According to this census, Albert was at least the 3rd son and John has the additional initial W

Not seeing the marrige to Elizabeth johnson

The marriage of some John Baker to an Elizabeth Johnson posted above - don't know if it's him or not - Rita would have to get the cert.

I don't see any of the family in 1901.

Hi All -

How confusing! Yes I have completed the Tree of Albert b 1889 and knew he was the son of John 1852 Bootmaker and Esther Taunton (married in 1887) in the Bethnal Green area. I know I have Albert's line correct as (having married Rose Barlow in 1914 they had the following children: Rose 1915 - Albert T H 1917 - Jane E 1920 - Matilda (Tilly) 1922 - Henry W 1924 - Jean E 1933 and Dorothy (Dolly) 1937. This information I had gained from a living relative ( daughter)) of Henry W 1924, thereby making her the Granddaughter of Albert 1889 who she recalls visiting at the family home in Bethnal Green ( off Roman Road). I had researched back further to her Gt. Grandparents John 1852 and Esther Taunton 1862 (who married in Bethnal Green 1887) thereby confirming the birth of their other son John 1888, but failed to find any others. My hope is to complete a family tree including all the descendants from the above mentioned JOHN 1852 and ESTHER 1862 as a Christmas Gift for my good friend, who is their Gt Granddaughter.

Please post all census where you have found Albert and his family as at present we appear to have possibly two different families on the census we have found above, but with some very coincidental details - not impossible of course!

Where did you get Albert's parents from please? Are you certain his father was John?

On the actual image the bride's name is Rose Elizabeth Jane Barlow.

Looking at the census for John and Esther, the 1911 states that they have had 5 children and 1 had died. Surely that must be the Albert on the 1891 census as they have named another son Albert born 1902. Am I missing something here please?

This, I believe, is the 1901 census for the Albert who married Rose Elizabeth Jane Barlow (marriage given above). One of the witnesses was Harriett Baker who could be his mother or sister.

According to the Service Records of the Albert Baker who married Rose Elizabeth Jane Barlow they had a daughter Rose Emily born 14.3.1915 and a son Albert Henry born 13.4.1917

That could be him Londonbelle.

The other witness was Alec Moulton? I'm sure I spotted a census earlier with a family of Moultons and Bakers but I'm blowed if I can find it now.

I wish Rita would come back and tell us how she got John and Esther as Albert's parents.

I suppose there is a chance that two Albert Bakers married two different Rose Barlows in Bethnal Green. Can't imagine the odds on that let alone both couples producing a daughter Rose in 1915.

I agree rootgatherer .....I've just added another child that I've found while looking through Albert's Service Record....... Albert Henry b 1917. The children tie in with Rita's posting of 16:50.
