Hello this is Effie again I have been doing a lot of researching the the Puncher family also the Peggs and Bruce's. It is coming along nicely but I wonder if you could help me to find out who Elizabeth Emma Bruce b.1876 Poplar mother and father are as I havn't got a clue and cannot find them anywhere. Now what I have done is that I have found a Joseph Daniel Bruce b.1844 Colchester Essex and he married Lucy Collins b.1847 Hertford Hertfordshire and they had they had 11 children who were Daniel Bruce b.1868 Colchester Essex Sophia Bruce b.?? Bromley Kent Harriett Bruce b.1867 Colchester Essex David Bruce b.1868 ? Colchester Essex Harriett Bruce b.1870 Colchester Essex George Bruce b.1874 Bromley Kent Joseph William 1876 Poplar London d.3/06/1945 ? George Bruce b.1874 Poplar London Lucy Bruce b. 1879 Bromley Kent Sophia Bruce b.1881 Poplar London Annie Bruce b.1884 Poplar so I wonder if it would be possible if Elizabeth Emma Bruce b.1876 Poplar London may be one of them as I cannot find her parents anywhere. Jacqueline - Sorry that I got James and Francis wrong and thanks for the information of the above. James J Puncher b.1847 Old Ford Middlesex and his wife Sarah M Puncher b.1848 Old Ford Middlesex is Walter Charles Puncher b.1874 Poplar London parents so I am going to research that family. The strange thing was I did have James J Puncher b.1847 and Sarah M Staples (Puncher) down but wasn't sure if it was Walter's parents.
I very much appreciate what you have done for me and many thanks for your help, now I can start researching a bit more and see what happens and if I get this all right I plan to do the tree and will give it to my friend Norma whose birthday is next month. She does not know anything about this at all so it will be a great surprise for her all being well. Many thanks again I have a feeling that this is the right family

They were married at Wandsworth London O/N/D 1934 also Cyril's father who was Walter Charles Puncher b.1874 Bow London and his wife was Elizabeth Emma Bruce b.1876 Poplar London they were married at Hackney London J/F/M 1901. Cyril Puncher b.1903 Poplar London had two brothers who were Leonard Charles Puncher b.1901 Chelmsford Essex and Harold A Puncher b.1906 Poplar London d.1953 Romford Essex. Cyril Puncher also died 1993 Chelmsford Essex if that is any help.Thank you

Well I have been doing some research on the Puncher family
and I descend from Sarah Elizabeth Ott b.1830 Rotherhithe London and she married Benjamin Acton Wood b.1833 Bermondsey and they had 7 children to whom one was Martha E Wood b.1865 Rotherhithe London and she married David Peggs b.1855 Chelmsford Essex and one of their sons Alfred D Peggs b.1889 Rotherhithe London married Lilian Ivy V Puncher b.1890 Upton Park Essex. Lilian's father was William F Puncher b.1846 Lowestoft Suffolk and mother was Sarah Hannah Poore b.1852 Middlesex. They are all related to me as Sarah E Ott was my 2nd cousin 4x removed. The reason why I was researching them was because I had a friend where I used to live and her name was Norma I Puncher
b.1935 Malden Essex and her parents were Cyril F Puncher b.1903 Poplar London and mother was Clarice E Leighton b.about 1909 (not sure) London or Essex and they married at O/N/D 1934 Wandsworth London. I believe Cyril's father was Walter Charles Puncher b.1874 Bow (Poplar) London and wife was Elizabeth E Bruce b.1876 Poplar London and were married at J/F/M 1901 Hackney London. I have had some of the Puncher's on my tree for a few years but it was only recently that I took it seriously that I wondered if Nortma's parents were related to them especially as they come from the same area but I cannot seem to find if they are so perhaps you would be good enough to let me know if they are related please.

So you are trying to establish a connection with a friend from your childhood who was Puncher at birth...........

Wouldn't that be nice, if you could..............

Can I ask you to confirm that you have proved a connection between yourself and the tree you quote in your last post?

If not, it would be better to do so first, before looking at people who married into that extended family

This may be her in 1891, but I think you'd need to get a copy of her marriage cert to confirm her father's details

As the father was born in Suffolk, it may be that any connection with the other Punchers is quite remote, especially as the father of Walter C ( born c1874) was born in Buckinghamshire
