He later married someone else according to a tree on ancestry. I think he died in1945

I forgot to add Rose his service record 1915 shows his next of kin his father Arthur Kellett.

Just found it but I'm not sure about it, although the name at top is Robert Kellett he has signed it Kelly? which seems an odd mistake for him to make? edit maybe it is right though

Rose i thought the same until i saw the address Albert Street which is where the family lived. Some relatives still live in the same street in Millom.

For some reason i had difficulties accessing the record on deceased online.
I have now seen it and have sent for the death certificate, hopefully it may she some light on Selina Kellett.

The death certificate for Robert arrived this morning.

The details are

Robert Nelson Kellett
dod 5 June 1948 at St Alfeges Hospital

Age at death 58

Address 16 Alabama Street Plumstead Woolwich occ Builders labourer.

The informant was S Kellett wife of deceased.

Address 16 Alabama Street SE 16.
I am not sure whether getting Selina Kelletts death certificate would shed any further light on who she was.

The death record for Selina does not have full date of birth, which might suggest that the informant didn't know much about her. Also, looking at the original rrecord the year of birth might be 1893, not 1895 as stated.

It is possible that Robert and Selina did not marry .....................


One or both might have been married before they met, and were unable to get a divorce (for whatever reason)

they might not have believed in marriage!


I looked on freebmd for a marriage Kellet* and Sel* between 1914 and 1965, anywhere in England and Wales ............ where * is a wild card standing for 1 or more letters (in case of mis-spelling)

The tree on Ancestry is mine, i have also looked at all the variations for a marriage but cannot find one.

I have come to the conclusion they were either not married or married in another country.

There is no marriage for them on Scotlands People either.

Thank you for the revised date of birth for Selina Andrew.

I may send fro Selinas death certificate but doubt if it will give any clues.
