Hi Karin,
Grandma, Mary Ellen Eaton was born 9-2-1895 at WARSOP, Notts. Her parents were Samuel Chappell Eaton born 24-8-1870 at WARSOP and Hannah Holmes ( she died on 26-1-1906.
Grandad Louis Wright was born 17-8-1890 at GAINSBOROUGH Lincs. His parents were William Wright born 9-8-1848 at BOTHAMSALLNotts and Elizabeth Talbot born 21-12-1853 BOTHAMSALL Notts .
Eaton's go back to 1800 in WARSOP .
Wright's go back to 1700's in BOTHAMSALL.

Some photo's and a postcard in my Gran's Album indicate that they were cousins, but not necessarily 1st cousins, because I know quite a bit about the family . My Gran was Mary Ellen Eaton, the writing on the photo's was her own hand. There is a little girl and on the back of that " To Mary for Xmas 1908, from Connie" as well.
Please do not spend too much time on this if you are too busy, I just thought to see if I could trace how they were cousins. Teresa x

Karin, with the photo's its hard to tell, one is a young woman with three very small children and the other is a pretty little girl of about 6.
Will have another good look at them later and see what I think, with no dates its not easy.

No, my Grandparents were Louis Wright and Mary Ellen Eaton. Everything in the photo album relating to Vaughan's says about them being Cousins, No dates on photo's and just asked my mum if she can recall anything and she doesn't seem to have heard of any of them. Teresa :-S
I think that I will have to leave it for now and see of there is any other of Mum's cousins who know anything ( not many of them left now though)

Hi, just another mystery to solve, this family are cousins of either my Grandma or Grandad, according to the photographs I have found in an album. Not a lot written on, just one letter saying these cousins had been to visit and thanking Gran for having them etc. Photo of "Gertie Vaughan with husband and family", there are 3 little ones sat down with them, hard to see whether boys or not, they're in dresses!
Going to have a jolly time sorting these out I think :-)

There are these Vaughan births with mother's maiden name Chislett after 1911. Mansfield registration district covers Tibshelf. The others are in Chesterfield. Perhaps the family moved? Edit: Just noticed Chesterfield district also covers Tibshelf.
