I am looking for any information about my grandads relative's. He was Herbert George paterson born in Royston in 1892. Siblings are Alec,Frederick,Nellie,Charles,Margery,Lillian and Jack . They moved to Emsworth after 1st world war I think . thank you Lorraine

HAVANT POLICE CASES
Wife’s Summons Fails At the Havant Petty Sessions yesterday Herbert George Paterson, formerly coal merchant, of North Street, Havant, successfully resisted a charge of going away from his wife and two children whereby they had to receive assistance from the Public Assistance Committee. Mrs. Paterson told the court that a separation order had been in place since September last. Her husband had made some payments to her, but none over a period of two months, during which she received relief. Defendant stated that after his failure in the coal business he went away to look for work and sent his wife money whenever he could. He also visited his wife frequently. The Bench dismissed the case.
