Thanks for the extra info malyon.
Can someone please clarify something for me.
In the 1871 census Andy found George was with his sisters Annie 5 years and Ethel 2 years, this would make Annie's birth 1865/66. The baptism malyon found has Annie's baptism as 1863 - parents John and Ann, presumably this birth relates
Surname First name(s) District Vol Page Births Mar 1863 (>99%) DICKENSON Annie Laura Wellingbro 3b 156
I've searched the 1871 census for a John and Ann as they married in 1860 and the only one I can find is this one
Well Street, Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, England John Dickenson Head - Male 46 1825 - Northamptonshire, England Ann Dickenson Wife - Female 44 1827 - Northamptonshire, England Emily M Dickenson Daughter - Female 15 1856 - Northamptonshire, England Annie L Dickenson Daughter - Female 8 1863 - Northamptonshire, England Alfred L Dickenson Son - Male 6 1865 - Northamptonshire, England Harry E Dickenson Son - Male 3 1868 - Northamptonshire, England
Is this the same family I can only find one birth registration for an Annie Dickenson/Dickinson/Dickerson for the relevant years. I'm getting the feeling it's not George's parents.
Thanks in advance if any one would like to take a look.

There is not likely to be anything in the 1871 census in the workhouse to say that the children whose surnames happened to be the same were actually related to each other, although they are listed consecutively
Have you looked at the record?

Don't be sidetracked by the birth records posted..................remember that until 1875, there were no penalties for not registering
ALSO
All three of the children were said to have been born in Burton Latimer, and the registration district for that town is KETTERING
Wellingborough births are not likely to have any relevance

Thanks Jacqueline and Chris Ho for your replies.
I've not been able to see the record Jacqueline as Andy got it from Ancestry and I subscribe to FMP but it looks like John and Ann are not the correct family.
It looks like I will have to get George's marriage certificate, I was hoping I might have found it in the parish records on FMP
