Sorry, rootgatherer - didn't notice you'd already posted the possible death.

Yes, I wondered about Frederick too, but couldn't find him either.

ArgyllGran

ArgyllGran Report 23 Jul 2015 10:40

Young Frederick George's birth cert would clear up who his father was:

Births Mar 1891 (>99%)
Blundell Frederick George Brentford 3a 71

No problem ArgyllGran. :-)

ArgyllGran Report 23 Jul 2015 10:57

Come to think of it, if Frederick was indeed born 1861, he's unlikely to have been a brother of Walter born 1838

Or DOB is wrong -

There's this one in 1851 ???

Births Jun 1851 (>99%)
BLUNDELL Frederick Romsey 7 193

And that's Frederick in 1881, at the same address as Walter. They're staying with their brother Alan and his wife Ellen M. *****

(1881 posted by Malyon on page 1.)

He's a loco engine fireman with LSW Railway Co

Frederick with Annie in 1891 is a railway engine stoker..

I had seen that Frederick brother of Walter but what was throwing me was that Frederick's age on the 1891 match his age at death. It does look likely though that he may have knocked 10 years off his age because Annie was so much younger.

ArgyllGran

ArgyllGran Report 23 Jul 2015 11:39

Yes, I agree.
there's certainly no sign of a Frederick Blundell or variation born in 1861 in the right place.

rootgatherer

rootgatherer Report 23 Jul 2015 11:50

I think we have the right man ArgyllGran. Perhaps Linda has just got Walter and Frederick mixed up if it is their parents and siblings that she is researching. Easily done when researching a surname with so many variants :-)

I wonder if Frederick died elsewhere. This is the nearest death registration that I can see that could match the burial that has been found.

Hi, everyone, so sorry for lack of responding, computer problems, fixing didn't work , cost me only for it to crash again, so have given up & bought a new one! Getting my head around new system almost as bad as genealogy brick walls!! It appears I have mixed the two brothers I was/ am having problems with!! & yes it was Fred married to Annie whose death I couldn't find! Walter was a enigma too after 1881 but I was trying to concentrate on just 1 at a time & still mucked the post up!!! Thank you thank you thank you to all of you who have posted replies & been waiting for ME! But back up & online now so hopefully all good now. will look at all replies properly & come back with a positive x

No problem Linda. We are just pleased you are back online now.

Looks like we have found the deaths for the two brothers for you. When you have had time to read all the replies you can let us know what you think.

Linda Report 30 Jul 2015 13:08

Have now read slowly through all this wonderful info!!! xx. The pre & 1881 I had already, but certain pieces are brilliant additions, thanks to ArgyllGran for Walter service record ( had him on board one ship in a census so far) so the extra info is confirmation. The Walter death in Kent is interesting & suppose no real reason why he shouldn't be there as anywhere else after being used to travel
Special thanks also to Rootgatherer & Chris Ho for the breakthrough details on a poss Burial in Twickenham & Death in Bucks, on Fred, although age differs I also had wondered if he'd reduced his age at marriage, the details for name, date & place (ref Twickenham) are otherwise too much of a coincidence to ignore & certainly tie in with the Bucks details &as he appears to be on the railway p'haps that plays a part? So after all the work done for me, will now order death certificates for both & will let you all know if all works out (fingers crossed)
