I think the census that Rose found is more likely to be the one. He is still with the Beardsleys in 1891 but is shown as grandson rather than nephew. |

If there was no father's name entered on the marriage certificate the most likely reason is that he was illegitimate, in which case there is very little chance of finding out who he was unless he is named on a baptism record - though this is unlikely. |
