The transcription for the 1921 census has him mis-recorded as "Wm" which you've picked up as William. The image does actually show his name as Tom.

No, he's Ernest and Beatrice's son.

As Winnifred (Hatheway) Brough only died last year, the Funeral Directors may still have up to date contact details. If you were interested in getting in contact with Tommy's descendents, it might be worth emailing them. They may be willing to pass on a message, but not give out their client's details.

The same could apply to the other funeral directors mentioned on other recent Notices.

PAULINE DUNN

PAULINE REBECCA (BECKY) DUNN Becky passed away peacefully at the Delta Hospital on May 9, 2001 in her 88th year. Loving wife of 63 years to Duncan and dear Mum to Carole (Bob) Baturin and Bill (Marlene). She was so special to her grandchildren, Jeff Baturin, Karen (John) Doricic, Greg (Anita) Baturin and Kylie Dunn and much loved Nanny to Sara, Amy and Matthew Doricic and Devan and Ryan Baturin. She is also survived by her sister, Nancy Walker; brother, Tom (Win) Brough; and sisters-in-law Jean Simmons, Lil Vesey and Betty Hunt; many cousins nieces and nephews and dear friends. Becky was an avid golfer and bowler in her earlier years. She and Duke worked together in their store, Dunns Meats & Groceries, for many years. After retirement, they made many wonderful trips and enjoyed the winters in the south and the summers at Grand Beach. They moved to Tsawwassen, B.C. in 1995 to be near their children. Throughout her life Becky loved her family and all the special celebrations she had with them. All her family and friends loved Christmas Eve at the Dunns. Mum will always be loved and missed by all. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, May 17 at 12:00 noon at the Delta Funeral Home on Ladner Trunk Road. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Delta Hospital Foundation, 5880 Mountainview Blvd., Delta, BC V4K 3V6, would be appreciated. Many thanks to Dr. Magnuson and the staff at the Delta Hospital for their loving care of Mum. DELTA FUNERAL HOME 604-946-6040

MarieCeleste Report 12 Oct 2015 11:37

Looks like Nancy was Annie - she's reverted to Annie by 1974 when she and Hibbert are in Manitoba with what appears to be two daughters.

ADDED:

There's a tree on Ancestry has her obituary. She died 11 Oct 2009. She was predeceased by her brother Tom and sister Bec. It also mentions a sister-in-law Winnie Brough.

There's no mention of a brother William so wonder if he's actually Tom? There's a Tom and Winnifred Brough on the electoral rolls so that ties up Winnie.

MarieCeleste Report 12 Oct 2015 11:22

Wonder if this is connected? It does say the bride was the daughter of Ernest and the late Mrs Brough ....

http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/keepsafe/asset/details/20179341

I haven't clipped the full article but it mentions Nancy's brother Thomas was an usher.

The Winnipeg Tribune
Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
Monday, September 1, 1947 - Page 8

ADDED: The family in this notice were living 44 Fifth Avenue, St Vital, Winnipeg on the 1945 electoral roll. The family comprised Ernest a "bookpr", Tom "navy" and Nancy "canteen". That's a match for Beatrice's death. Wonder if Nancy is actually Annie?

Not sure if the RS Broughs are connected:

This chap who married was the son of a Robert S Brough who married a Jean Elizabeth Winter in 1941 (marriage notice in Winnipeg Tribune). He in turn was also the son of a R S Brough.
