I checked out that marriage and looked for an Anne Maria Holloway on the 1901 and 1911 census.

I couldn't find one though. :-(

If he did marry, he married without using his middle initial, as there are no marriages between 1896 and 1911 for an Alfred A Holloway.

The first record you posted ties in with his date of birth of the 1901 record you posted earlier. So looking good.

Checking out the 1900 departure record. It gives his occupation as "Miner"

That is really interesting Chis. Their mothers maiden was Litten.

Albert E H Holloway and Frederick W Holloway do not appear on the census records.

Checking out births and deaths, it seems they both died in infancy.

I think that, for every historic county in England & Wales, the registration districts that are needed to completely cover the county always include places in another county/counties. I know this is true for the 32 Irish counties. It might not be true of Scotland, but I don't know what their registration districts are, just their registration subdistricts.
