Sorry Frances. it is Tolson. Findmypast has transcribed his baptism as Jobson. I thought that was the correct name because I have heard the name Jobson before.

As a coincidence I found a Tolson Farm just to the west of Kendal near where Tolson's mother came from !

It probably isn't a coincidence Frances. Someone in the family's ancestry maybe owned or rented the farm sometime in the past.

That was my thought too, Kath, but I couldn't find any parents for Ann Brockbank in IGI so couldn't take it any further.

Thank you Maddie, you obviously have special powers 'cos Ann didn't turn up for me when I looked in IGI ! This makes it even more likely that Tolson Farm is something to do with the family. Perhaps Natural (is that really his name?) lived there at some time.
