These are the only Alfreds showing in 1911 Scotland. It's definitely not the last one as he was born in Lanark and married to Annie.

Cane, you mention the possibility of your "Abbot family being in Scotland during 1915/25 plus".

They certainly weren't in Scotland in 1911.
Alfred didn't die in Scotland 1901 - 11.
Mary didn't die in Scotland 1901 - 69.

So I doubt they were there in 1915-20, unless they went away and came back later.

They don't seem to have moved to England either - at least there's no sign of Mary in the English 1911 census.
IF they did move to England, but perhaps Mary died before the 1911 census, then
there's this possibility (just going by age - no other reason):

Deaths Sep 1903 (>99%)
Abbott Mary 34 W. Derby 8b 331

But no - I can't see Alfred in England in 1911, either.

If Alfred was in England later, then this death might be his - at least the age would be right - but it's a sheer guess, not based on anything:

Deaths Dec 1925 (>99%)
Abbott Alfred W 55 Southwark 1d 24

We haven't found any emigration records for them - not definitively, anyway. There are various possibles, but individually, not travelling together, and not enough detail to identify them positively.

ArgyllGran Thank you so much I can now rule out this .It was Alfreds Uncle Charles w abbot born 1880 in Darlington and wife Clara and their sons Samuel abbot abt 1913 and Charles abbot not long after and their nephew Charles Richard abbott 1924/26 born Greenock Scotland..i don't have their birth details

[EDIT: Oh, I see - when you wondered about your Abbott family being in Scotland c 1925, I thought you meant Alfred and Mary specifically.
But you meant Abbots in general.]

What other details do you have about Charles W Abbot and family?
Did they live in Scotland? When did Charles and Clara marry?

This is the nephew's birth:

1927 ABBOTT CHARLES RICHARD M GRANGEMOUTH /STIRLING 481/B2 0072

You would have to buy a copy of the cert to see exact date, details of parents, etc

If they lived in Scotland, this could be Samuel's birth:

1916 ABBOTT SAMUEL M GRANGEMOUTH /STIRLING 481/B2 0183

and Charles junior ??

1918 ABBOTT CHARLES WILLIAM M GRANGEMOUTH /STIRLING 481/B2 0170

The birth certs would give parents' names, for verification, and place & date of marriage.

There's no sign of Charles & Clara's marriage in Scotland.

In England there are these two possibilities:

Charles William Hawn Abbott
in the Northamptonshire, England, Church of England Marriages, 1754-1912
Name: Charles William Hawn Abbott
Gender: Male
Age: 22
Birth Year: abt 1878
Marriage Date: 19 Mar 1900
Marriage Place: Hargrave, Hargrave, England
Event Type: Marriage
Spouse: Clara Louisa Ward (age 21)
Parish as it Appears: Hargrave
Register Type: Parish Registers.

(on the GRO index, per FreeBMD, his third initial is F, not H.)

Marriages Jun 1904 (>99%)
Abbott Charles William Bristol 6a 104 <<<<<<<<<<<<
Badrick William George Bristol 6a 104
Hodge Mary Ann Bristol 6a 104
Pace Clara Bristol 6a 104 <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

I can't see them in 1911 in Scotland, England, or Wales.

Nor Charles in any census, for that matter, not if he was born 1880 Darlington.

Are you sure Charles W was Alfred's uncle?

That should mean he was Benson's brother.
But Benson was born 1843, and you say Charles was born 1880.

Is this his birth??

ArgyllGran,
Thank you,Ive had to be a part timer unfortunately. & thank you for the Scotland Births info. No they didn't stay in Scotlant, I was informed they were up there as there were barracks up in Scotland at the time. Yes the Charles w Abbot 1880 is correct and. The Clara Pace marriage in Bristol is also correct..Charles w Abbot & Clara had five children ( I think there could have been a Ronald born in London) not too sure abt that one though..Clara is living in Salford on the 1911 census with a few of the children ( she is not a widow)
The story started with Richard Abbot 1819 and Robert Abbot 1820 ( Beetham Westmoreland). ( sons of Richard abbot 1796c (born Kirby Westmoreland) all Quarry men ..Benson Abbot( 1843) is the son of Richard (1819)and Alfred (1870) is the son of Benson..
Robert Abbot ( 1820) my 3x gt grandfather and his son Samuel Abbott* 1857 and his son George Robert Abbot 1878/9 ( married Ann Cartledge in Salford in 1912)..I have all info for Robert (1820) Charles w Abbot* (1880) and George R abbot*)1878/9).as they didn't have such a large a family as did Richard (1819)... which kind of made it a breeze threw...Regards Gwen
