So as the 1891 says Alice was born Bideford (even though 1881 says Exeter) the birth for Emily Harris must be her - perhaps the registrar misheard Alice as Harris.

Or else it's a mistranscription on the GRO Index.

I tried an adress search and got up the ALLU name and then the site got itself into a tizzy and I couldn't get the rest up to check.

I have now found the 1891 census on Findmypast. Thirza has been mis-transcribed as Theresa with surname Allu.:-

Genes really isn't the best place for research. It's great for the community boards like this one to get help but you would be better spending your money with a subscription to either Findmypast or Ancestry for looking up census, BMD's etc.

I have only ever had a basic subscription to Genes and I think a lot of other members are the same.

I found the 1891 on Ancestry but couldn't find it on FMP.

I don't know about records through GR site as I never use them but I think it uses info from FMP ?

I can't check further on FMP at the moment as the site is 'having a wobbly' but you might like to try putting in the info below through GR and see if it brings the info up for you on here?

Did you notice from the 1911 census that Emily Alice and her second husband had had one child who had died by the time of the 1911 census?
