In fact, they were still in Barrow in 1909, per Alice M's school record on page 1.

But somehow they've slipped through the census net in 1911.

Snippet in the paper suggests Alfred (or Andrew?) was at 101 North Street, Coventry in 1916:

Coventry Evening Telegraph - Friday 06 October 1916

Coventry Munitions Tribunal
Cases Adjourned:
A. Woolley, 101 North Street, was also summoned for time-losing..

AustinQ

AustinQ Report 3 Jul 2016 13:21

Yes, I think so. Definitely before 1939

ArgyllGran

ArgyllGran Report 3 Jul 2016 13:20

so the 1926 death for wife Alice could be right, too.

AustinQ

AustinQ Report 3 Jul 2016 13:19

1939:

Woolley Household (1 Person) 101 North Street , Coventry C.B., Warwickshire, England

Alfred Woolley 21 Aug 1876 Male Labourer Widowed

AustinQ

AustinQ Report 3 Jul 2016 13:16

Death above looks right for Alfred:

England & Wales, National Probate Calendar (Index of Wills and Administrations),

Woolley ALFRED of 101 North Street, Coventry died 31 May 1947 at Gulson Road Hospital Coventry Administration 9 July to Andrew Woolley machinist

That's what a tree owner on Ancestry thinks, PH.
They don't have any info after 1901, though.

And maybe father Alfred??

No I can't either. Wherever they are daughter Alice is probably with them.

ArgyllGran

ArgyllGran Report 3 Jul 2016 13:00

I can't see any of the 1901 Barrow family in 1911.

PricklyHolly

PricklyHolly Report 3 Jul 2016 12:58

This looks to be Alice's baptism........

It states May instead of Mary...

Alice May Wooley in the England, Select Births and Christenings, 1538-1975
Name: Alice May Wooley
Gender: Female
Baptism Date: 1 May 1902
Baptism Place: Barrow, Lancashire, England
Father: Alfred Wooley
Mother: Alice

ArgyllGran

ArgyllGran Report 3 Jul 2016 12:13

Assuming you've come across Alice via researching Reg Clarke, Gerald, then you definitely need her marriage cert in order to establish her father's name.

This one could also be a possibility:

Births Mar 1902 (>99%)
Woolley Alice Rochdale 8e 15

EDIT:
Well, maybe not - the school record with her birth date and father's name Alfred looks conclusive.

Nora's baptism........

FIRST NAME(S) LAST NAME(S) DOB OCCUPATION
Andrew Woolley 05 May 1900 Labourer Aero - Engineer
Annie Elizabeth Woolley 02 Nov 1892 Unpaid Domestic Duties

So if the one you are looking for was married to Reginald Clarke then she wasn't born in Birmingham

ArgyllGran

ArgyllGran Report 3 Jul 2016 11:58

What has been your starting point, Gerald?

The marriage record in 1924, or the 1911 census entry? Which one is definitely your Alice?

You may be talking about two different Alices.

EDIT:
Although, having said that, I don't see an Alice born in Barrow in the 1911 census.
