Sorry had to nip out. Yes I have the 1881 census for Elizabeth and Reuben. So they both died 1889 and James (John James) was still alive then, a bit of progress. I'll look for their burial records when I'm in the archives and will check the marriage of Hannah Burrell.

Yes I've been looking under the spelling of Wallis, Wallace and Wallice can can still not find him.

Note the spelling Wallace. John James doesn't appear to be at 2 Rutland Street in 1891. There's a Thomas & Mary Parker living there- perhaps relatives of Reuben.

Thank you for looking. None of the James children's marriages has James as deceased. I also like you cannot find anything on James Elizabeth and Alfred after 1881 the only one I have been able to follow though is John James son of James to the 1911 census and have found the burial for his wife Catherine (Kate) in 1911 and she is the only one in her grave.

Hello Wendy- I've had another look at this today and am no further forward. I think it's likely that the 1881 Emma in Walker Street is the correct one, but I don't see what happened to her parents or brother, Alfred.

Perhaps someone else can find them- it is quite annoying!. Do you know if Emma's father was listed as deceased on her marriage in 1884?

Yes the 1871 census is the right family. So looks like the one in Beeston is not the same Emma.

witnesses were Stephen and Fanny Wallis her cousin's.

Cannot find a death for James or Elizabeth and cannot find family on 1881 census as looks like the Elizabeth and Emma I had on 1881 census is the wrong ones.

Hi Austin,

OK so that means that there was another Emma Wallis born 1842/3 Stapleford so back to the drawing board for me and the 1881 census is wrong too for this Emma. Most of the Stapleford Wallis's are on my tree. This Wallis section was in Sneinton in 1871, will post details later. The death you found sounds promising.

The Emma in 1901 is with her Mother in 1891, and 1881, so doesn't fit with living in Leicester with James Burton in 1891:

I can't see an obvious death for Elizabeth either.

Maybe the person who was the informant on her death certificate had no clue as to her age?

Sorry had to go off line. I do believe it's the same Emma and I hadn't thought that James may have died so Thank you so much Gins. Prickles The death for Emma Wallis in 1911 could be her age is right so probably died before 1911 census and could be buried in Beeston Cemetery. I cannot find a possible death for her mother Elizabeth can you see her anywhere in deaths or on 1911 census.
