ArgyllGran Report 12 Sep 2016 12:44

John & Ann Verity had two other daughters - Mary born 1805, and Ann born 1816.

Can't find record of marriage to Welburn or variant, but maybe one of them was Ann & Jane's mother.

EDIT:
Most likely Ann, given the YOB's of Jane & Ann jr.

Thank you ArgyllGran, you have been so busy whilst Iv'e been away, at my chores!

I have copied it all out into my Word file and will investigate it further later.

Frances Report 13 Sep 2016 20:13

ArgyllGran has explored the distaff side with great results but poor young Charles has been left all on his lonesome ... :-

Births Jun 1842
Greenwood Charles Driffield
23 50

I reckon that in 1851 he was possibly with his parents and siblings. I have searched in IGI without any success but possibly he is in the 1851 census. Driffield presumably covers his birthplace of Weaverthorpe but can anybody see him there please?

Many thanks,
Frances

Oh, I see - The Vicarage is the address of the first household listed in the census document. Naturally, the Vicar of Weaverthorpe, Samuel Henry Dunze (sp?) lives there with his family.

But other households are just in the village, without specific addresses being given.

The Vicarage is on page 1 of the record; the Greenwood family are on page 6.

Thank you again for your diligence ArgyllGran, I was also much perplexed by an Ag Lab living in a vicarage!
In Choccy's 1851 Betsey is put at East Lutton, which I have found on the map, close by Weaverthorpe..
