Hannah, it's unlikely to be the 1867 birth you posted above as there is a likely death for that child in 1871.

Malyon- if this is Mary in 1911, then I doubt that 1903 marriage is correct:

If this were my family I'd buy the death certificate of Adam Stephenson to see who registered the death.

This is likely him in 1871 but I don't see a corresponding marriage, or Elizabeth after 1871.

PRESTON POLICE INTELLIGENCE
Theft from a Father.—Adam Stevenson, on remand from Saturday, was again brought up on the charge of stealing three pairs of boots belonging to his father, who is a pawnbroker in lancaster-road.—The prisoner had taken the boots from the shop at various times.
He pleaded guilty to the charge, and although his father recommended him to mercy, was sentenced to three months imprisonment, having been before charged with a similar offence, and discharged on the request of Mr. Stevenson.

Good spot on that marriage Tiggit- but looking at the information posted by Chris it doesn't appear to be the correct man. He appears in Stockport with his wife Elizabeth Clarke in 1871- listed as born in Bolton.

The 1863 article is a nice find!
