Member Since: July 2004 Posts: 5,047 Send Message	Lynn...It usually meant that the Husband had died.... but....sometimes if the person was not sure eg. when the husband was working away then they put HOF.. .Divorced didn't figure in those days..!! If you are looking at the 1901 and it has HOF you can always cross check with 1911 see if husband is on that or were any more children added to the family between 1901 and 1911 as he could still be away from home. We all get mixed up along the way...you go back to the drawing board and start again.... Plenty of help on the Board just takes time and patience to sort out...!!
