I have been searching for Elizabeth Moore b 11/5/1914 West Bromwich for 4 year's. Yesterday in West Bromwich I sat and talked to her 80 year old niece Pat Snow (Woodward), whose mother was her sister Harriet Moore. Pat has told me and I took photographs of Elizabeth's husband Ernest Roberts and two photographs of Elizabeth in her bus clippie uniform. Pat has told me Elizabeth passed away in 1992 in Cardiff. Yesterday Pat told me that Elizabeth became a Jehovah's witness and the church organised the funeral and she and her family were not allowed to sit on seats at the funeral?!

I have ordered 5 wedding certificate, in 4 years 3 options before I made contact with Pat (those were weddings in West Bromwich & Walsall 1930/40s) and 2 wedding certificate 1944 & 1946 of Albert Roberts marring an Elizabeth Moore in last 3 weeks and none are a match on her age or Elizabeth's Moore's father who was an Ernest or her profession.

I cannot find their marriage record or a match for her death in Cardiff, so asking if any one can help me now? Pat says Ernest was widowed and has 2 boys that did not come to Elizabeth's funeral she could not give me their names yesterday. They never had any children of their own. Pat said Ernest was a Bus Driver and you can see by the keep safe link's she was a clippie :) So they must have meet "On the Buses" Pat could not tell me when Elizabeth moved to Cardiff.

Is there anyone who can recognise anything from her badge on her hat and number 168 on collar and records around bus company staff that may track them down. Pat suggested she was a clippie in the Midlands as she visited her as a child.

As she was a Jehovah's witness is there anything with her faith that has made me not find a record of her passing. Or can you search for records at Jehovah's witness church's. Cannot find the pair via electoral rolls so I am truly stuck but getting so close! The photographs have been a huge bonus in confirming Pats help in letters. Pat may be able to give me an address in Cardiff? but I was too busy taking photographs yesterday and writing a lot of other family facts down but I will write to her again for any more last straws of fact to help if nobody can find anything more via this post.

Safc thank you but Elizabeth's birth certificate did not have a middle name just Elizabeth Moore the record you have posted does it have an associated year of record of residence. As Pat was going to visit Elizabeth in Cardiff just before her death cannot figure a link to Midlands & Wales except the exact birth date.

I have the 1946 wedding certificate in front of me. Some facts link up but others don't. Elizabeth is 32, Shop assistant Laundry at 152 Mackintosh Place, Cardiff, father Frederick Moore (not Ernest). Husband Arthur 48 Widower, Engine Cleaner (Steel Works). 17 Kingarth Street, Cardiff, father Harry Roberts Police Inspector North Riding Police Force. I double checked with Pat yesterday and she was sure Elizabeth's husband was Ernest. I also thought she may have mixed them up. If they worked on the buses why separate professions and different addresses.

Just to add to the faces. Picture of Ernest & Elizabeth taken yesterday. He does have an unusual badge on his jacket. I need a specialist in buses, but I remember as a kid on the buses in Birmingham the Bus staff used to have metal badges.

Iv'e Googled bus driver badge and the memories are coming back but those badges were circular. So not sure what Ernest is. But remember getting my ticket from the clippie and jumping on at the open back entrance grabbing the tall pole. Happy Days

You asked if being a Jehovah's Witness would stop you being able to find a death record.
No the religion has nothing to do with bmds as theses are a legal requirement so would be registered .
How a funeral was later conducted is nothing to do with registration
