Just for eliminayion, there is a Frank Grieve, b Feb 1901 in Buffalo for the 1925 NY state census, but he's not your Frank.
Buffalo Ward 22, A.D. 02, E.D. 12, Erie Co NY

As we can deduce from the links posted above, he's this Frank:

Helen, in your opening statement you say that Frank R. was born 1900 but his father David was born 1833. Was his father really 67 when he was born?

You also say that Frank R.'s brother David was born 1866. Was there really 34 years between brothers?

Think Helen mixed up the generations - see my posts above - 2 x census and parents/grandparents marriages

Helen

Helen Report 22 Jul 2017 15:50

Hi , think I have got his fathers date wrong , David grieve 1867 should have said, and brother David 1893 , thanks for all the information,
I know the address he went to , stayed at John Brown 319 E.86 th Street, years ago I wrote a letter to that address , a long shot I know, got no where ?
The Canadian census in 1925 don't think that's him ,says Canadian , he was Scottish, only went there in 1923 on SS Columbia
Looked on Ellis Island got information on him arriving
Wonder how I could find out if he married? Had any family , death certificate, my family and I will maybe get someone who does genealogy to help us, unless all you helpful people can find out more , thanks again Helen

That's what we've been looking for, Helen, but not finding anything after 1923, I'm afraid.

We've posted the earlier records just because they came up while we were searching, and in case they gave us any clues.

I couldn't find him on any US census.

What about this one arriving in Montreal in 1930? He gives name of nearest relative as mother Mrs. Mary Ann Grieve, Kilrenny, Anstruther, Fife. Going to join friend Mr. Currellay, RR1, Munro, Ontario.

That looks good, MargaretM.

I don,t see a marriage or death for him in Scotland.

There's a 1934 marriage between a Frank R Grieve and an Agnes Gilligan in Manchester, but that's probably Frank Robertson Grieve, born Chorlton 1908.

ArgyllGran

ArgyllGran Report 23 Jul 2017 00:54

Frank Grieve of Kilrenny returned to Canada in 1930, leaving Greenock on 10 May, heading for Quebec on Duchess of Atholl. [EDIT: 23/7/17 - Just noticed you've already posted this, MargaretM.]

Sorry, using my tablet and haven't got the hang of copying and pasting on it!

EDIT:
Also from Greenock to Montreal in 1950, farmer Frank Grieve 1899, East Gilston Mains, Leven, Fife. With wife (?) Iola, 44. Arrived Liverpool in Sept, left Oct.

Wife is Iola Clark Grieve.

Per voters lists, Iola (lab tech) and Frank (carpenter) in Wellington, Ontario in 1965.

Don't know if this is the right Frank or not. No middle initial, so maybe not.
