yes Timothy was born in 1946 in surrey.

So Timothy was born before his parents' marriage?

yes I got his birth-date from the death certificate. His son (Timothy Lee) was the informant on the death certificate, so i'm pretty sure he knew his dads details (well what his dad has told him at least).
I will have to order the marriage certificate.
I know that the son has passed away but I am actually trying to find the other son Richard J Lee born 1948 in Pancras. As I am getting absolutely nowhere with this, I thought I would try to find the rest of Williams family and then perhaps see if a cousin knows of Richards whereabouts. Its a long shot, but worth a go.

I'd say the Devon birth is most likely- the Durham birth has middle name Alfred.

If you are taking the birth date from the death register then it is only as accurate as the informant's knowledge of the deceased.

I'd say the Devon birth and marriage of parents would be my best bet. You are never going to be sure unless you buy William Albert's marriage certificate.

William's marriage certificate is a must to be sure of his father's name.

If this is the right family then it is possible that William joined the army and was away in 1939 as the "father" on here was an army pensioner.

well its his parents & siblings I am trying to find, that's the problem.
I cant seem to find his birth which might help me find his parents.

OK, so marriage not until 1947 - his parents, with ages?

Seeing nothing coming up with that birth date +/- 2 years. He would have been of an age to be involved in WW2, so perhaps might not be registered.

Who were his parents? Who and when did he marry - they might be registered.
