Rebecca was one of seven children, her father Dan Bush was a Cooper, her mother Rebecca (maiden name, could be Simpson,or Wood or Manchaney. Rebecca Bush married Joseph Edwards in 1899 in St.Thomas Church, Stepney, September 17th. The Bush family originated from Essex but such a lot of them came to London that it is hard to seperate the families who are all related and many of them named their children who were cousins the same names. At the time my sons' Grandmother was born in 1911 the Bush family were living in Dora Street, Stepney. Can anyone help please.

Was your son's grandmother named Mary Ann? She's the only Bush I could see, born 1911 in the Stepney area.

But it looks as though the Bush grandparents of that Mary Ann came from Bristol and Aberdeen. Not Essex.

Can you let us know your son's grandmother's name please, so we can tie her into the correct Bush family.

Oh, I see. Just ignore all that. I jumped to the wrong conclusion that her name was Bush. Was she Florence Edwards?

Good find Mary. I wonder if Rebecca's mother had been married before she married George Simpson. Could the Elizabeth Bailey on that 1861 as niece be the Elizabeth Simpson on the 1851 census?
