Hi Trying to trace more information for the above

What I know:

She Married my Ancestor Richard Arthur Prior on 11/05/1943 st Pauls Church Durban South Africa.
I believe they had a child - Marylin Prior b around 1945 place unknown
They were divorced sometime before 1965 as he married again to Sheila Jean Henman (or Hienman) again in Durban south Africa 08/10/1965 unsure if they had any family as they divorced in 1971

if anyone can shed any light on any of the above it would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Jenny

Those both look promising: so it looks like Helene married again!

definitely a lead to follow up

The link you put on Nyx wouldn't load for me but thanks for this another avenue to look down

the gendatabase is that an american website?

can't find any trace of Charles or his marriage to Helene, it's always the same struggle.....

just wondering if they moved on abroad and UK was just a transitional point but if he was in the RNVR i was kind of assuming he was british

Can't see anything on Marylin though

Jennifer

Jennifer Report 13 Jan 2018 00:20

Great that's him heading out they got married in 1956

I have found a tree on My herritage which looks like Helene's family threy have the two marriage the death and two children with the surname prior. they look as if the tree has been active recently so will try to contact them and see if I can't find out what happened to the 2 children

ArgyllGran

ArgyllGran Report 13 Jan 2018 11:39

The 17-year-old who apparently travelled with Charles & Helene to the UK in 1957 -
on a second look I see that his surname is Curtin on the image, not Curtis - but that may be a typing mistake. He's going to the same address as Charles.

He didn't travel back with them to SA later that year - left in UK for school / university/ work / living with grandparents ??? Or else he's nothing to do with C & H!

Can't see any other record of him, unless he later omitted his middle name.

Great News the tree I found is a match to Helene and have confirmed 2 children Christoper and Robin (yeah both boys) no Marylin so that was a bit of a red herring!

great to finally get to the bottom of the missing information - may even get more information yet if I am lucky as I have messaged someone of genes reunited with the name Robin Peter Prior born in durban so just hope that they are still active

Thank you all for the help it is such a relief to finally get there
