This is John Patchett in Durham 1871 as a visitor at the Mellor household.He is related to them!

John Patchett of Yorkshire 1811 married Sarah Mellor 1813 born Ashton Lancashire
They had daughter Maria in Denton Lancs @ 1836 and George 1850 in Horton Bradford.

On looking at the baptism for the Joseph Patchett by spinster Sarah in 1857 the birth looks more like 1853 not 1855 in my opinion.

No Sarah,so wether the John in 1871 Durham is your John is any bodys guess.But John and Sarah nee Mellor didn't have son John 1851 so who did he belong to?

How do you know that no family are named - I do not understand.

Just noticed I put John Patchett age 15 Bradford on the 1871 census in Durham when it should have been 20 with John and Maria Mellor.


Maria Patchett married John Mellor Bradford A/M/J 1861 her Uncle??
