Yes,Elizabeth Sarah married Matthew Hunt in 1947 just before theytravelled to New Zealand .They were together many years before but actually married in 1947 .They went over with Matthew Thomas Hunt and stayed about 9 years I think my Dad said .

The Mary A I was wanting the maiden name of is the one married to Thomas Hunt as in Thomas Hunt and Mary A Hunt who lived in Ware,Hertfordshire .

Regarding the WW1 Army records ,yes that’s my Grandad Jack (Ezra John David Hunt) .I know he didn’t like the name Ezra hence everyone calling him Jack .In fact on his marriage certificate to Dorothy Mary Owen (my Nanny) he signed it Edward John Hunt .

Thanks for the Navy information on elder Ezra Hunt ,I didn’t know he was in the Navy .I know Matthew Hunt(b 1886) was in the Navy as Ive got details of his Navy records .

Her maiden name was North.

I hadn’t heard of an Arthur H .The Winifred Taylor Hunt ,does it sound she could be the Mother of John Hunt? Or could Arthur and Mary be John Hunt’s parents ?

Regarding the 1891 census ,I’m guessing Kate M Hunt and younger Thomas Hunt and elder Ezra are the children of Mary A Hunt and Thomas Hunt (elder) and then there is Ezra JD (my Grandad) and Matthew and Elizabeth Sarah who we know about .Sorry for sounding silly but what was Mary A Hunt maiden name ,did anyone find that ? X

I am not seeing a second marriage for Elizabeth Sarah to Ezra's brother Matthew Hunt.

Regarding John Hunt born 1920 in Ware .Is the only way to find out more about him to get a birth certificate ? I think I found the mother’s maiden name was Taylor .

I think on one of the census Rose Hunt was down as daughter of Elizabeth Sarah but I’m having problems tracing Rose other than in the early census as a young child .

Hi Everyone x
I will try and explain .Ezra JD Hunt (Grandad Jack ) is the Son of Elizabeth Sarah Hunt nee George .I recently sent away for Grandads birth certificate and gave all the correct details,initially they couldn’t find it until we realised that Elizabeth Sarah was still George when Grandad was actually born (which I didn’t know until then ) .She married elder Ezra Hunt in that December (I think) .Which is why the birth was re registered in 1938 as Ezra John David Hunt.

So Elizabeth Sarah was initially with the elder Ezra ,they must have split at some point as she ended up marrying Matthew Hunt (born 1886) which is why Grandad Jack always called them Mum and Dad and my Dad always knew them as Gran and Grandad .

Sorry ,it’s quite confusing at first .
