Would someone be able to look for a divorce concerning the above please

I have found a marriage in 1865 to Esther Hudson (1844-1911) they had a child born in 1866. His fathers name was on the certificate.

He married Mary Beal (b 1847) in 1867 and had several children between 1875 and 1886. These children were my ancestors.

Did he later marry Frances Maud (?) born 1866. This was from another persons tree
. Did Charles get divorced from Esther? Any help appreciated. Thank you

Unlikely at that time they would have divorced as it was expensive and rare among ordinary working folk. Often when couples split up they either found new partners and lived as husband and wife or married bigamously.

Where did you find he married Mary Beal. He is on the 1871 census still with Esther

It looks like there's two Charles l Baker b c1847

The one with Mary ann on the 1881 is an telegraph engineer

The one married to Esther was a house agent aged 20 when he married in 1865 so born c1845

Esther is a widow on that 1891 census.

Age a few years out but perhaps the informant got it wrong?

Deaths Dec 1887 (>99%)
Baker Charles Lawrence 47 Pancras 1b 48

If your Charles Lawrence was still alive then, it looks like a different man.

Not seeing your Charles's marriage to Mary Beal.

Can you post a census record of your family please?

Thanks for info, I knew divorce was really only available to those who could afford it but Charles father was reasonably wealthy by all accounts so I thought maybe he had agreed to pay for it. When their daughter got married it was stated that her father was deceased and it was her uncle Edmond whose name was on the certificate. Just wondered if Charles had legally divorced but having now said he was put as deceased then I agree he more than likely did marry bigamously or just lived with Mary. Thank you again.

He is my grandfather. As I said on the marriage to Esther - Charles L.s fathers name was on the certificate and the folk on the 1881 census are my relatives so I am sure these are the correct Charles Laurence Baker. Some other information has come via a distant cousins tree
